Making Sense of Clairvoyant Images

Making Sense of Clairvoyant ImagesIf you are developing your psychic abilities or learning to be a medium then you’ll know that clairvoyance – “clear seeing” – is one of the most common of psychic abilities. This is when you receive images in your mind, either picked up from the other person’s aura, if you are psychic, or communicated to you from the spirit world, if you are a medium.

The Interpretation Problem

Clairvoyant images can be very difficult to interpret, however. In many ways, it’s easier to be clairaudient. If you’re working with someone for a sitting and you hear a voice telling you “My name is Rose”, then you can easily pass on to your sitter that you have Rose with you. If, on the other hand, you suddenly get an image of a rose in your mind, what does that mean? Is it the name Rose, or is it symbolic of something. If so, of what? Of love? Love from who? Is it the color of the rose which is significant, or is a memory of being given roses, or putting roses on a funeral casket?

For this reason, making consistent sense of clairvoyant images takes a lot of work and a lot of practice.

Is It Your Own Imagination?

When you’re first beginning your psychic development, you won’t necessarily know whether the image or thought in your head is anything psychic or mediumistic, or whether it’s just a random thought generated by your own mind. The good news is that it doesn’t really matter, at this stage. Tell people what image you have, and see if it makes sense to anyone. While you are still learning, you cannot hope to distinguish entirely between imagination and clairvoyance, but it will get easier with practice.

Symbolic or Not?

One of the first things to do when you get an image in your mind, is to try to work out whether it is literal or symbolic. Sometimes, this is relatively easy. If you see an image of a person, for instance, describe him or her in as much detail as you can, as this is likely to be a literal image of a spirit loved one. If you see a view or a piece of scenery, it’s also likely to be literal. As a rule of thumb, it seems that the more detailed the image, the more likely it is to refer to something real. On the other hand, the more vague or incomplete the image, the more likely it is to be symbolic.

It’s important during your psychic development to try to develop a shorthand dictionary of symbols which are personal to you. You will establish, for instance, through trial and error, certain symbols or signs which spirit will show you which will always mean the same thing. For instance, you may see an image of a large dog, and you will have learned that for you, this always means that the person you are talking too is need of loyalty and protection, rather than that there is a large dog trying to communicate to them. You might establish that you will always see a certain color in order to indicate whether your spirit communicator is the sitter’s mother, father, sibling or grandparent.

Such symbols are absolutely unique to you, and will not match the same symbols used by other mediums. The earlier you can start to recognize and develop these symbols, the better, so it’s important to keep a journal of your early efforts in mediumship and psychic work.

If You Don’t Know

If you don’t think your image is literal, but you’re not sure what it’s symbolic of, you have several options.

  • Mentally ask spirit, or your guides, for clarification. Ask them to show you the same thing in different way.
  • Ask yourself if the image is relevant to your own life right now. For instance if you see your own diary, you might need to communicate to your sitter that you sense that they have too much going on and need to take time out.
  • Consider whether the image could relate to something this spirit really loved, or really loathed. If you see lettuce, does that mean he or she was a health food fanatic, or that they couldn’t stand lettuce?

If in doubt, simply tell your sitter exactly what you see. If you’re seeing a blue triangle and you have no idea what that could mean, just pass it on – it could well have significance to the sitter, for instance as part of a logo or a jewelry design, which you could not possibly make sense of without prior knowledge.

Handling clairvoyant images accurately is extremely tricky, but the key is to persevere – and never be afraid of being wrong!
